Special Care Unit
Eventide at Hi-Acres offers a Special Care Unit to provide specialized services for residents with Alzheimer's Disease, dementia, or related conditions. The 16-bed unit is designed around a social model of care to enhance the lives of residents affected by dementia and provides skilled nursing care in a secured unit. At the point in time when the resident's medical needs outweigh his/her social benefits of the unit, we will transfer those residents to the regular skilled nursing setting.

Rehabilitation and therapy services
Our caring team consists of speech language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and restorative nursing. Our staff works with the residents, families, and physicians in developing and carrying out individual treatment plans. Some of our programs include stroke rehabilitation, aftercare following bone and joint injuries or surgeries, edema management, wound care management, pain management, and general strengthening.

Activities
Our therapeutic recreation staff coordinate a wide range of fun, engaging activities daily, designed to meet the physical, social and needs of residents. Activities are offered in large and small group settings, and on a one-to-one basis. A typical activity calendar would include musical entertainment, spiritual activities, social events, games, bowling, balloon volleyball, reminiscing, educational activities, and writing and art groups. Residents also have the opportunity to go shopping, dine at local restaurants, and attend special community events such as parades and movies.

Hi-Acres Apartments
Hi-Acres Manor also has a 10-unit building for independent living for those over 62. Personal care, housekeeping, laundry, meals, etc, are the responsibility of each individual tenant. For more information, call (701) 252-5881.
